I arrived so late
at night
Thought I'd take a look around for a while
Could have been a moment or a mile
In a village, silent
crack, gateway off the beaten track
I could hear faintly distant murmurs in the wind
Should I knock
or should I go
To my broken motor, sleep a night in cold
Village in the night just scares me so
Is it white or
is it black?
Is it cool or just a heart attack
Is there life or just a soul?
Is there need for my mind to wander

was just thirteen
A captivating, hypnotising rock'n'roll machine
I never heard a voice before that meant so much to me
In later years that sound remains a loving memory
A hippy child, then warrior, you
never let me down
A future mind, one of a kind, made words that captured sound
I never met you face to face, my one and true regret
But I would like to say my friend, I never will forget
Now every time I hear your voice,
it brings back memories of joy
Of how you sang to me alone, at last that's how it felt
And every time I hear your song, it always feels like I belong
To one amazing family, who's still behind you true
